Sunset last night

After a nice steak dinner at a local joint, we were blessed with this

Sounded like a good idea , , ,

Until we got it out on the streets - we quickly became aware of several problems. The outside crank on both sides was bent and the front tires were so misaligned that it was almost impossible to pedal. Also since there is no seat adjustment you are invariably in a bad position to pedal. Took it back after 10 minutes.

Check out the front alignment!

North on Hwy 101

Not sure what happened....this is a post from June 24th. I don't know how it got out of order, or how to fix it. :-/
Just north of Pacific City.

I'm not sure what these are....some kind of weed, no doubt.

This beast was at the air museum in Tillamook. It's called a mini-guppy, though there's nothing mini about it. Lol!!

Riding from Astoria over to WA. Look how low the water is!

Long Beach

Cold, grey & windy in Long Beach - go to the bay side and it's sunny - go figure! We took a nice ride up to Oysterville (really) very quaint. Trish has some pics on her phone she will post later. These pics are from long beach. Trish is taking some time to explore this cool bead shop while I fart around outside (I didn't want her to feel pressured)

I think this is cool how they combined treated and raw boards, nice effect.

Rednecks everywhere (not that I'm judging)

This is a pano am I took in Oysterville

No sushi - no yuppie food

They're kidding right? Eww

From Cannon Beach

Chowder in a Bread Bowl

Ever since we started planning this trip, Anthony has been talking about the clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl that he had(and loved) last time we were in Long Beach. He's happy now. :-)

Heading out

Wow, what a fantastic time I've had with my sweety. Picture perfect weather -high sixties-low seventies and clear. Check out what we woke up to this morning!

And the next few days while Portland is sweltering. BooYa

Heading out before noon, I have never seen the air museum in Tillamook so that is a planned stop. . .

We brought it with us!!

Weather report was wrong! We brought the sunshine with us!

First morning

Yesterday we stopped for coffee in St Helens around 5:30. My plan was to go through Astoria and down the coast. When I finally thought about it (I checked the map) I realized that would put us into Lincoln City around 11:00 pm, screw that! We turned around and went back down Cornelius Pass - 26 - 6 to Tillamook.

We rolled into town at 8:45 and got checked in. They town shuts down at 8:00pm so of course the restaurants are closed. I left Trish in the room and went off to do my hunter/gatherer thing. I found a Chinese bar/restaurant and bought some acceptable take out.

Our room is FANTASTIC! We are on the third floor which is the ideal height. Not so high that you can't see or hear the waves but not so low that you hear people below. There is an enormous shower plenty big enough for two. We're going to go get our complimentary breakfast then check out the first floor amenities.
